Chad Davis
MrChad aka Chad Davis brings innovative web-based entertainment marketing approaches to the musicland mix. Current projects include trend-tracking and creation, and finding out where the open-minded music lovers in sydney go for fun. He also books several venues for musicland.
As DJ MrChad, he plays in many popular bars in Sydney as well as regular private and corporate parties. You can see his profile and gig schedule here.
Chad regularly calls on his extensive network to "make things happen'" - a network he has built over the years on his unusual path to musicland, dating back to a near-miss with a career in Physical Metallurgy.
After years as a volunteer student activities co-ordinator and science communicator, he stepped up to manage the entertainment for the Roundhouse at UNSW. He and his team built the reputation and quality of service of the venue to a point where it was common to see several thousand people at the annual Oktoberfest festival and regular student parties. Memorable highlights included Fatboy Slim playing his set 'in-the-round' on a rotating stage and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters telling him he had a "nice room" moments before rocking out in front of 3000 people.
Chad then moved onto freelance graphic design and event management (and DJing) for a couple of years before finally meeting David and joining the fold at musicland.
His favourite Sydney venues are Tonic, Melt and Darlo Bar. His favourite Melbourne venues are Cookie, E55 and the Nightcat.
